The wait is finally over.

IFIB proudly announces the names of three young talented emerging filmmakers of Bangladesh for the Dhaka to Cannes Initiative, a first ever initiative of its kind in the country, in partnership with IEFTA.

An international jury has chosen the following filmmakers to participate in the Producers Workshop at the Marché du Film – Festival de Cannes this year at #Cannes2017.

Congratulations to

Lubna Sharmin
Md Abid Mallick
Kazi Mahadi Muntasir

We look forward to working with you this year at Cannes!

The three selected filmmakers will make a trip to the Cannes Film Festival 2017 to participate in the Producer’s Network and workshops hosted by the Marché du Film, a unique opportunity for the filmmakers to gain access to the international film community at the Festival and Marché du Cannes, a yearly event that draws filmmakers, distributors and financiers from around the globe.

The members of the jury were Mary McGuckian, writer/director/producer, Gary Springer, entertainment publicist and Alan Poul, director/producer.

It is to be noted that IFIB and IEFTA will not directly fund for the selected projects. The goal of the program is only to connect the emerging filmmakers of Bangladesh to the world film community.
